Fried Fish

We are waiting all year for the Rosh Hashanah Fried Fish. So simple, and so delicious!

I prefer mullet fish because it is thick and meaty, but tilapia or any other meaty fish is also optional.

For those who avoid frying, you can definitely prepare a baked fish in the oven with the same seasoning, but I think that once a year on Rosh Hashanah, go for the fried ones, you are allowed!

Ingredients:

2 fishes cut into slices

1/3 cup of oil

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

1 teaspoon of salt

Juice from a whole lemon

oil for frying

preparation:

  1. Wash the fish well

  2. Soak the fish for half an hour in lemon juice

  3. Wash and dry well

  4. In a small bowl mix all the spices together with the oil

  5. Pour the sauce over the fish and mix well so that they are well seasoned on all sides

  6. Soak in the refrigerator for several hours to absorb the flavors

  7. Take out about half an hour before frying to bring to room temprature

  8. Heat oil in a deep pan

  9. Fry the fish until they are brown on both sides, a few minutes on each side

  10. Take out and put on absorbent paper or on a grid

  11. To prepare in the oven: it is better to use filleted fish, spread the fish well and place on baking paper with the skin side up, and bake for 20 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees, or in grill mode
